Based out of Detroit, Michigan Ken Knox has been playing saxophone and singing for The Chairmen of the Board since the early 1970s. His beautifully crafted silky saxophone solos define the records he recorded with General Johnson and The Chairmen of the Board. Ken continues to perform and record his Selmer Super Action 80 Series II from 1982. Ken also recorded on a vintage Conn alto saxophone on earlier records in the 1970s and 1980s. Paired with his Selmer alto, Ken plays on a H Couf 7 mouthpiece with a Francois Louis Ligature using Legere Signature reeds.
To bolster the horn line sound of his band, Ken employed John Page III on Tenor Saxophone in 2010. John comes from a rich background of saxophone experiences. John performs and records in the music styles of jazz, rock, beach, motown, R&B, blues, gospel, classical, and others. John currently plays on a P. Mauriat 66UL tenor with a Theo Wanne Durga 8 mouthpiece on Rigotti 3 strong unfiled reeds. John also plays a Selmer Reference 54 alto saxophone.
Together Ken and John play soulfully powerful saxophone solos, duets, and horn melody lines that help define the modern sound of The Chairmen of the Board and The Executives Band. Ken and John are currently open to partnering with saxophone companies and other saxophone related entities.

Ken Knox
Ken Knox is a legend in his own right. As the last standing member of Chairmen of the Board, a soul group that defined an era of music, Knox has taken on the responsibility of preserving the group's musical legacy. Known for his smooth saxophone skills and heartfelt performances, Knox has spent decades connecting audiences to the music that shaped soul in the 1970s their hit records the iconic “ Give Me Just a little More Time” Patches” Pay to the Piper” Everything’s Tuesday” Carolina Girl”.
Today, he is more than just a performer; he is a torchbearer, carrying forward the flame of soul music that his bandmates, General Norman Johnson and Danny Woods, helped ignite.
Ken Knox joined Chairmen of the Board in the early 1970s. His addition to the band brought a new layer of depth, thanks to his extraordinary talent on the saxophone. Over time, Knox became an integral part of the group’s signature sound.
After General Johnson passed away, Knox stepped into the role of band leader. It was no easy feat, but Knox was determined to keep the Chairmen of the Board’s legacy alive.
Taking the reins of such an iconic group came with great responsibility. Knox not only had to continue performing the group’s classic hits, but he also had to maintain the high standards that fans expected. He succeeded, earning the admiration of both longtime fans and new listeners.
In 2010, Knox recruited Vocalist :Thomas Hunter, Daryl Johnson.
Saxophonist John Page III, Trumpeter Doug Burns, Bassist Jerry D. Washington, Keyboardist Jerry Midas Hardison, Drummer Jerome Joseph, Guitarist Rod McCoy, they continue to tour today.
Whether he’s playing live or on a recording, Knox’s saxophone adds depth and emotion to every note. His ability to convey feeling through his instrument has made him a standout musician in the world of soul.
Ken Knox, is a member of the North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame, the South Carolina Beach Music Hall Of Fame, and the Soul Music Hall Of Fame based in the UK.

John Page III
John Page III has been involved in music ever since his earliest memory of playing on his dad’s drum set. John started his musical journey playing the drums, piano, bass guitar, guitar, and trumpet before progressing to the saxophone by age 14. He attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2005 - 2009) where he studied saxophone with Dr. Will Campbell and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. After his graduation from UNC-Charlotte, he then attended Winthrop University (2009 - 2011) where he studied under Dr. Phil Thompson and received a Masters of Music Performance. His college years were full of performance experiences in symphonic bands, sax quartets, musicals, and various jazz ensembles where he played lead alto and lead tenor respectively.
John joined The Chairmen of the Board and The Executives featuring Ken Knox where he continues to serve as tenor saxophonist and hornline arranger since 2010. John has performed and shared the stage with The Chairmen of the Board, The Charlotte Symphony, The Temptations Revue, Maurice Williams, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, members of Chic, Honey Cone, Steve Smith of Journey, Scott Wendholt, KC and the Sunshine Band, and many others. Mr. Page records music for several music production companies in the North Carolina and South Carolina regions. He records for The Chairmen of the Board, Nickelodeon, Amazon podcasts, and other artists based in Charlotte, NC and Asheville, NC. He records jazz, R&B, rock, classical, and other popular music styles featuring woodwind instruments, brass instruments, piano, guitar, and drums.
Mr. Page worked at middle schools and high schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area and later became the Band Director at Coats-Erwin Middle School from 2012 - 2024. He was adjunct faculty as Jazz Ensemble Director at Campbell University from 2014 - 2016. Mr. Page founded the Harnett County All - County Jazz Education Program in 2023 and is the Jazz Education Coordinator for Harnett County Schools in North Carolina. He was the Harnett County High School Jazz Clinician in 2023 and 2024. He now serves as Band Director at Dunn Middle School in Dunn, NC where he continues to share his passion for music and jazz education. John resides in Dunn, NC with his wife Joelle and daughter Judith.
